Bad bad mom!!

This here “skirt” pretty much proves that I am the worst mom in the world. Mike bought me a sewing machine several months ago. From the start, Daisy begged for a princess dress. I told her that might be beyond me but assured her we could make a princess skirt just as soon as we got some material. Then, just to try the new machine out, I sewed the rough shape of a “skirt” on the only material we had in the house. It wasn’t really meant to be the “princess skirt” or even a skirt at all really – I mean look at it. No hem, no elastic waist, no glitter, nothin’. Sadly, after several months of me saying we’d make her skirt “soon,” she gave up. That alone wouldn’t have made me feel so bad, but she’s done it with such cheerful resignation. She somehow manages to actually keep this “skirt” on for hours. She tells everyone that it is her princess skirt and someday we may even sew some cute things on it. She happily claims that she’s all set to be a princess for Halloween now (though she did decide to at least make her own very sad little paper excuse for a crown). Seriously, what kind of a mother am I!!?! Someone, make that poor girl a pretty skirt!

Whatever you kook!! Don't let your guilt take over!! You are just trying to make it like the rest of us.
Remember:
You can be all things to some people.
You can be some things to all people.
But You can' t be all things to all people, all the time!!! That make no sense??
Don't you love those pathetic attempts though, they are fun to laugh about later.

Hey...at least you tried! I haven't attempted to sew anything since 6th grade home-ec (other than a button on my shirt) and I'm not about to start now. If Daisy thinks that skirt is Princessey enough, then buy some cute patches or a bedazzeler and go to town. Princess for Halloween it is!

screw all you all. that is NOT good enough and I will make Daisy a darling princess skirt this minute...crap...the stores are all closed but I will next week. Not to make you feel bad. You really can't do it all. So, Meg and I will do it this week.

ok... i love that shannon and megan are going to bail you out! (but a little jealous they get to play together this week)hehe ... don't feel bad. megan has had to bail me out of sewing/knitting messes too! :) i think i have boys because i'm not talented in any sort of girly way -i mean, look at my hair! i couldn't do cute hair when i had some :) let alone try and do it on a little person. it's the thought that counts, right?! :)

Oh Shan, you're the greatest. I don't even care that you had to tell me that that was NOT acceptable! You are pure cool. But ohhh Jami, did you have to bring up hair?? Yes, I have THREE girls and zero hair skills. The only time they get a cute hair is . . . sigh. . . . when Shan is around to feel bad for my girls again!

Sewwww the drama!!! You are a bad, bad, mom . . . . but it seems that Mike likes you that way (naughty Nancy - rarrrrr!) and that your kids are better for it. Just look at how Daisy is learning to love people IN SPITE of their imperfections! (hee, hee, hee -wicked little laughs while twirling my hands around each other) What a noble thing you are doing! Keep up the good work!

Ok Nanc,
I am thinking, at least you attempted to make your girl a skirt. It is a sad, sad PRINCESS skirt but makes the perfect peasant skirt. To think, the poor thing just wants to be a princess. I guess if you explained to her that she was going to be Cinderella before the ball, it really isn't that big of a deal. It is then PERFECT.

Oh my poor, poor, little "D"--I don't know if we are to use real names?? Anywho, you know I will be the AUNTIE who will buy her not one but ten princess skirts if she asks it of me. Now sew it..well that is another matter....but for the love go to Michael's and buy one of those huge bag of rhinestones and let her glue away to her hearts content..how hard can that be???
