Ghost Blog

Poor lonely deserted blog. Does anyone come to see you anymore? Why would they when you have so clearly been abandoned by even your once faithful caretaker? When they can hear the wind whistle past them and see the tumble weeds blowing by sending a chill of loneliness to their core?

Perhaps it is with the same pull that compels one to dare themselves up the creaking slivered steps of a dark and, for reasons long forgotten, abandoned old house to peak in through the slats of a broken shutter; smell the odd, damp, musky odor; and jump at some unknown in the shadows.

Or, perhaps you have even lost that appeal and are looked upon instead with disappointment and a small sense of some loss as one might gaze upon the tattered, thistle and dyer's woad infested remains of what must have once been a well tended garden with pathways, stone benches, climbing roses and delicate small petaled flowers. One might wonder what had become of the clearly once beloved spot, why the stone bird bath now lay cracked on the ground, and who might have long ago sat in the shade of such a quiet and now sadly unappealing spot.

Worst of all, you may now go unnoticed entirely -- a small house that once had children and laughter with in your walls, a fire in the fire place, or a breeze blowing through spring print curtains; a rope swing in the backyard, a mother calling little ones in for bath time and a father hammering a nail in the wall to hang his wife's newly purchased painting. And now, forgotten; surrounded by large buildings, paint faded, left by your loving occupants and viewed simply as a cheap and temporary place to live by your present ones.

Poor poor blog, how could I have dealt with you thusly?

You know I could have only written something this kooky late at night as I pine for my far off husband and should be getting some sleep. All is well and we are well. Far from settled and quite in limbo, but still quite well. Someday soon I will reenter the entertaining world of blogdom.

Yes - cooky - and your blog is well cared for - I've been on it almost every day this week - though I haven't seen many changes - the blog is far from lonely. Dedication I tell you!

thank you for describing so vividly my exact feelings and achings of the heart that have overcome me as i have looked in on your decrepit blog this week.

haha. just kidding. i barely posted something for the first time in ages and i still have no time for blogging because of trying to translate superior driver. ugh.

my brain is starting to feel like your haunted, lonely old blog.

You forgot to add the part about the desereted garden that didn't have beautiful plump, off-the-vine veggies anymore - ones that were for your children's health and well being but are now rotten and unfruitful. I say the rotten part to make you feel better about those horrid too early take over pickers that bought your home because maybe it won't seem so bad that they are eating your vegies if you think about the veggies having the rotten vines - probably with bugs all over them.

And besides, we know that the only Ghost blog used to be mine and it was not because of not posting - it was because of M. Night Shaylamalulu - your blog will never be ghosted or deserted. We all love you too much and just keep coming back! Despite what you think, it is a very happening place still.

You should write a BOOK, SERIOUSLY. Where are you now and you are homeschooling? What are your plans? We should get together if you are back.

I'm wondering, just as the other Sarah, where you are now. Are you waiting for the house to sell to move here? We're excited to see you! Good luck.

For those of you who asked, I am here, in UT, but not in a new home, oh no, we did already sell our WA home, but Mike is still there finishing a work project and we are staying in my parent's basement until he gets here and we find a place we can afford (as we had to sell our WA home at a loss).

Yah, Sar, I am homeschooling (until we are someplace permanant) I'm sure I'll blog about it soon enough. BUT YES!! Both my Sarah's, as soon as I am one bit settled, let's please please get together!!Let's email.

nancy-i'm SO glad you made it ok, but i'm sad mike isn't with you. that's not always fun ... and home school. wow. you are good. i'd say "we're on a school vacation" :) or sign them up for the closest school, even if it wasn't the one they would be in forever more ... you are much braver than i! :)

Quite poetic. I was really starting to feel sorry for your poor abandoned blog. Glad you are well.
