Mike Tormenting Me

Why does my husband think it is fun to torment me? Is that what husbands do to the mother of their children? Last night I returned a little suit we'd purchased for Abe (it was too big). This morning Mike said, "You did get my wedding ring out of the pocket of that suit before you returned it didn't you?" It took me a few minutes of paniced questioning before I realized that Mike was teasing me and would have had no reason to put his ring in Abe's suit pocket.

We used to read books out loud together quite a bit, and every so often when Mike was reading, the story would suddenly veer very drastically from the direction it had been going. There would never be the slightest pause or hint of deception in Mike's calm voice so it would usually take a few minutes before I'd say, "What? Did that really happen? Does it say that?" Only then would Mike admit that the last few sentences had been of his own inventing.

There are a million more examples of me being the sucker. What is even worse is that I think I maybe like Mike even more for it all -- which means I truly am a sucker!

He sounds like fun! He doesn't do that with the scriptures does he? Ha! Ad lib? Maybe I do have a chance to make it to heaven!

I love finding out these cool little things about Mike. Sweets does that too(makes things up when he's reading to me)mostly to find out if I'm still paying attention; which I'm usually not! He seriously loses me at hello! It must be his low soothing voice that puts me to sleep.

Nanc,
Love it. So cute, innocent and sweet. I am talking about you-not Mike. Anyway, Happy belated birthday. Last week I was in Idaho on your birthday driving home and I told Brett I couldn't even wish you a happy birthday because 1. my bro's house we were staying at didn't have a computer (crashed a few days before) and 2. I don't have your phone number!!! Anyway, hope 32 was great. We need to hang out so I can see your cute little guy. Let me know what works for you. BTW, I love your new house. I tried to comment on it, but I don't think it worked. Is it an Ivory Hamilton? I am jealous that you got such a great deal on your house, if we ever have to move we are in trouble, we got in a the peak. Oh well. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Your card is still sitting on my desk because you never emailed me your address, which makes me wonder if I emailed your right email...

those are funny. i like the way mike torments you. jas just torments me by scaring the living daylights out of me all of the time. the past two times it has been while i was in the shower and i just happened to have put cleanser all over my faces and i scream and open my eyes and get soap in them. i think maybe you ought to appreciate mike's brand of tormenting. :)

O I just can't believe the similarities in josh and Mike at times. The story telling Josh does, but much worse because its when we are reading scriptures and think that maybe we will burn for it. O and the clever things that make me say "what?" and get all frantic for a moment. I love you and your husband together, it just makes me so happy!

So funny, Jon does the same thing - and he's quite witty. In fact, one day I said, "I wish I could be as funny as you. Really, I do." He just laughed at me, while insisting that I am funny. But seriously, there's just something about his spunky humor . . . I just wish I had the knack, maybe I'll be able to pencil it down someday. I told him, "This is the kind of stuff I should be writing. This is the stuff people want to hear. Forget conventional sappy romances, I want the romance that makes me laugh every other page."

Yes, I love a man who can torment me! It is a sick addiction. We should start a club. Mine likes to tell me stories about how his flight got cancelled and how he won't be able to get home for a few more days. Ya....why is that?

Joe knows that I'm too out of whack for this kind of tormenting. Mike is very brave to do such things to a post partum girl.
