Cows, Etc.

Any time I drive past cows, I really really want to stop and take their pictures.

Hey cows, how are you doing?

Well, not just cows. Pretty much any animal. I mean, here are some boring little pigeons.
And here, are some horses? No, donkeys?
And in the spring, when the grass was so green everywhere, I nearly cried at having to drive past a field of sheep every day with out knowing whether or not the owner would ever allow me to place my children among the sheep and take their pictures. I never asked. Only wished.
k
And, speaking of horses (we were speaking of them -- a minute ago when I thought the donkeys were horses): one day, I missed a dentist appointment and had to have Mike come pull our truck out of a snowy ditch because I had pulled over (not very carefully) on my way to said dentist's to take a picture of a horse that was just standing there -- wanting his picture taken.
k
But these cows. Well, I have been driving past them, and wanting to take their pictures, for months now. Usually they are standing (or sitting) in nothing but muddy slop. Yesterday, however, they were coated nicely in snow, so what could I do but drive home and return with my camera?

Is this something everybody likes to do? It seems like it would be. Later, cows.

I love your pics. I especially like the neat outbuildings in #2 and #3. The snow sprinkled cows are pretty cool.

Seriously, if it wasn't for your love of running I would honestly wonder if we were twins separated at birth!!! Because guess who, just this week, stopped to take pictures of HORSES!! I don't really love the cows so much, sorry, but ever since moving to Texas I have become a horse fanatic - which is really saying a lot given my penchant to dislike most animals in general. And because Mike loves animals so very darned much, I bet he didn't even mind at all to come and pull you out of the mud because I'm sure as soon as you told him why, he was all "Oh, I can totally understand how and why that would happen!". And just so you know, you can expect a post about the horses and how much I really love looking at them when I drive by and how I long for an opportunity when I can stop and look and take pictures. Because I was planning to post something of that nature even before I read this. Sometimes when you beat me to the punch it really makes me jealous.

OK let me make one thing clear right now...I have read nothing on any post , but I have however looked at all the pictures in great detail and must say you have such a great eye! I love your photos and the moments you catch so much! And maybe when I decide to ever read anything or you let me know I must read something in particular I will be back for reading. But for now I love your pictures! All of them!! And I love you!

sweet pics, sister. you're getting good. lately i always want to take photos of plain fields and bales of hay because i think that the brown fields and endless blue sky here are so beautiful. a different beautiful, for sure, but one i'm loving. and the cows and horses, too. but it is strange for me to see the snow because even though it was only two weeks ago that school was closed again because of snow and ice, today it got up to 82 with these most brilliant blue skies and then i saw this post tonight and wondered how long ago these photos must have been taken. a few days ago apparently...although i am slow and haven't been to my google reader for awhile. love you!

Cute pictures. I kind of have a cow problem though. It all started when Dave and I went four wheeling and I had to drive through a herd of cows. I had to slow down and the cows were very slow to move all the while looking at me. I got the distinct, creepy impression that they were just plotting against the world and they all new that their time would come for total world domination. They know so much more than we think!

So funny!! I run by cows a lot in this crazy little farm town I live in, and I love stopping at them and just staring. I've even caught myself trying to communicate to them, because they all stare at me like they want to tell me something. And now, we have a bunch on our property. If the path to get back to them wasn't 3 feet in mud, I'd like to get to know them a little better:)
