Cindergirl!

Peel the potatoes!
You're nearly three. It's time you earned your keep!
And you! Quit idling. Get helping with the potatoes! And while your at it, make some brownies! This instant!
(Alright, Penny actually insisted on peeling the potatoes. Mike had to tell her how wonderful each "finished" potato was before discreetly peeling the remainder himself. As for Daisy, I had actually told her she couldn't make brownies just yet. . . . Next thing I know, she's making brownies. Stinker. Of course it is hard to be too upset at the kind of disobedience that results in brownies. Mike halfheartedly tried to mumble something about her not getting to eat any brownies, but we both knew we'd never hold to such a punishment.)

Something about cracking eggs is so enticing for kids. My Nick loves to scramble his own eggs...all day long I tell you.

I like your black and white pics.
We tried to do some kid-friendly cooking during Spring Break. I think it was more work for me than them, though. It's hard to let them crack the eggs, just so you can fish out the shells - or open and pour the cake mix in, just so you can wipe up the stuff that "missed" the bowl.

You know what? I'd like a post on how you picked names for your kids. Why Abraham?

I love all of these pictures and the Daisy trampoline ones, too! They are so great! Did you get a new camera?

Amber, I did get my first kind of fancier one -- an SLR?? Is that what they are called. I am mostly just scared of it though because I feel like I don't deserve to have it unless I learn how to do some manual stuff and right now I am too afraid to do anything!! We'll see if I learn anything alowly over the next year or so.

Marz, Abraham and Jesse were great great and great grandpa names that Mike really liked from his side of the family. Penny is from an aunt I love on my side, and Daisy and Goldie I just really liked when I saw them in name books! :)

when did you get a new camera? its awesome! and did you take them in b & w or switch them after? way cool. were the brownies from a mix? i don't hate the idea of my kids getting old enough to do this kind of stuff! :) mostly i just love the photos.

I got it a few weeks ago. It is a Canon and I think just a little different than the one you and Megs got. I did find where the black and white setting was on the camera, but I really don't know much of anything yet. I need to go see Amy or read a bunch, but it feels a little overwhelming so I haven't really used it at all much yet. The brownies were a mix, but didn't she surprise me awhile ago when she insisted she could make cookies from scratch from a recipe awhile ago and she really did (only asking me a few times about certain measurments or ingredients). I told Megs and she put Con on the job and he did it too, so you may as well put Grace to work!

I dont think you need to come see me about anything photographically speaking--your pictures and the writing of course are one-der-full!
