Bumbles turns ONE!

Yesterday was Penny Pearl's first birthday. Something about having two "P's" in her initials makes me want to go ahead and make it three by calling her Penny P. Pearl. I don't know why. Her unfortunate initials have been pointed out to me, but the two names sound so cute together and as I was naming her after my aunt Penny, it seemed very perfect to use, for a middle name, the name of my grandma who was Penny's mother (as well as my father's).

Penny celebrated her birthday rather against her will. She did obligingly eat her celebratory first little cake (as pictured below) and she was exuberant enough about that, but she got very upset when we started forcing presents upon her. I think there were just too many little hands reaching in trying to show her how unwrapping was properly done and we'd waited til far too late at night and the whole thing made her angry, so we let the poor little one go to bed (even though Abe was unhappy that she hadn't shown proper gratitude and interest in his small gift) with her celebratory first bottle of whole milk.

I can't believe she is one already!!! And PP isn't so bad, afterall it really is PPH. We have PEN and KAN as initials I don't know what we were thinking either. But, I know that the little one year olds just don't care much for the presents. It takes a few times at it to truly appreciate it.

Look at you controlling the universe and saying enough is enough and putting the babe to bed! Good for you! And just so you know, my niece said that according to the resource BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING - it is Windex - that you soak the toes in....

uh, not happening here but tell Mike if it works for him, I'll try it.

I wanted to name swissy Phoebe but my MIL said you can't have a PP and I kept explained it would be more like Fee P because its a Ph not a P. She never got it.
I love reading and catching up on you thru the blog.

Ummmm...I want to eat that cake and I want my face to look just like that when I eat it...nice frosting everywhere.

I love Peeps. I think that's what I'm going to call her. Fun, fun oneness! Too bad she was so tired that she just wanted a nice bottle and to be left well alone.

First birthday's are the best! Of course they are more enjoyable for everyone besides the birthday boy or girl. But, those one year olds are lucky. We let ours eat their own whole cake with their hands. When was the last time you got to do that?
