Final News (From Me) On Shan's Baby

No more bed rest for my sister. When her fluid dropped to less than 1 cm., the perinatologist said it was not OK, so she had her little man today (just over seven weeks early). He came in at a whopping 3 lbs. 8 oz. It will be rough on her leaving him in NICU for a few weeks, but everything has still worked out miraculously -- I'm sure thanks to all the prayers going up for him. THANK YOU. The biggest miracle of all perhaps is that he is breathing fine on his own. He still will need to be able to eat and get off of the IV, but it could have been so much worse had times been different . . . or even had she not been having such regular ultrasounds. I'm so glad he is safe. Very very tiny, but safe. I'm sure Shan will post pics and more details on her own blog when she is up for it.

I'm so glad everything is OK. There is nothing more scary than not knowing what's going to happen when you are pregnant! Luckily with the knowledge of doctors and hospitals these days, you can have a baby seven weeks early and things turn out fine. We'll be thinking about her and Finn.

Love to you!

WHHHAAATT? I came here to check in while on my little vacation and, WOW! Little Finn is here!?! I am so glad that they were able to have such great medical help and the blessings of a healthy delivery. I will continue to keep them in my prayers. And yes, what an absolute miracle it is that he can breathe on is own!

Love the ecology stories - and the bits about the kids. And poop - one of these days I'll have to tell you about the poop diet. Yum.

Oh Shan and baby - so glad that everything is looking good. I'm sorry that I've been out of the loop. I do recall praying the other day for any friends or family who were struggling - so, hopefully that prayer went out for her?

Do those generic prayers even count? I hope so. Because by the time I get on my knees - I seem to have forgotten all the particulars of everything I should be praying about. If I don't pray about it when I think about it - I forget it. How horrible am I?

I love you - and love checking up on everyone.

Shan - baby and you will be in my prayers - particular and everything!
