I didn't want to get one of course. Not now anyway. Winter is just about to begin (and caring for farm animals is much more difficult in the winter), I wanted to wait until Mike changes jobs in a year and is around a little more, I thought we ought to get an older and well-ridden horse.

But then Mike took me with him to see Holly and she was so completely calm and sweet natured--no skittishness or stubbornness to speak of, that I was won over to the idea of starting right now with this little, unintimidating pony that the kids can walk, and brush, and get totally used to long before it's time to train her for riding.
With a little luck our grandkids will grow up going for rides on Holly.
