Birthday Twins

It feels like I took more pictures. Did I take more pictures? And if so, where are they?

In any case, these two had another of their little shared birthdays. 10 for Mette. (It always feels momentous--big and amazing and a little sad--when they leave single digits behind. There's just no returning them to little at that point.) 49 for Mike.

Oh wait! I did find a few more photos! Mette wanted a pinata for her birthday, so we bought some treats and she and Summer made one.

Happy birthday to these two people I love!

Why the Title?

Partly because chickens really have lived in my window well. (And on more than one occasion! . . . They are forever wanting to live in the window well). But mostly because, the first time I blogged about a chicken in the window well, it occurred to me that I had discovered a much better blog name than the boring old "Nancy's Thoughts" that I'd spent the previous two years blogging under.
