Goldie's Movie Night for the Kids

The sectional in our basement can fit practically all of our kids on it as it's arranged--stretched out long.
And there's already a large TV on the wall across from it.
So there's really no need to rearrange the entire sectional into a giant square. Or to face it towards a different wall. Or to play a movie onto that wall via a projector.
And yet, when Goldie did just that on one of her last nights home (and hung a little strand of fairy lights as well), the novelty of it all was pure magic.
No movie night with a regular old TV, on a couch facing its regular old direction and arranged in its regular old way could possibly have been so memorable.
Nice work, Goldie. Very good sistering!

Oh Goldie! How did she think of such a thing! Older kids really do seem to sometimes come up with the sweetest and best ideas to delight their younger siblings. Why can't they ONLY do that instead of also bossing them around and snapping at them and cutting them out of conversations? Or maybe I'm projecting my OWN childrens' problems on poor Goldie… haha

Well … just send your older ones off to college! That’s all! Then they aren’t ever around them long enough to be annoyed! Just long enough to want to entertain them! 😄 (Though this Christmas Break with all the tantrums and fighting amongst the younger set might have been pushing it for the older ones “not being around them enough to get annoyed”. 😏)
